This picture of a "spoonbilled catfish",
properly known as a paddlefish ((Polyodon spathula) was
taken by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The paddlefish
is not really a catfish, but because of its smooth catfish-like
skin, it is often mistaken for one. The largest known specimen
weighed over 160 pounds and measured 7 feet long. You can learn
